Frequently Asked Questions

What COVID protocols do you have in place?
To maintain proper social distancing, our indoor gift shop will remain closed for the 2021 Christmas Season.  All staff will wear masks and we strongly encourage our customers to wear masks when social distancing can't be maintained.  Staff will shake any loose pine needles from trees in our shaker.  Customers are responsible for hauling trees from the field and securing trees to their vehicle.  We have baler twine available for you to attach trees to your vehicles.

Can I bring my chainsaw?
No, our insurance only allows for the use of manual bow saws.  Chainsaws, sawzalls, hatchets, axes, and any other battery or gas powered saws are prohibited.

Do you have a bow saw I can use?
Yes!  We have bow saws available on a first come - first serve basis.  There is no charge to borrow one of our saws.  We require that a Driver's License be placed on hold, ensuring you remember to return the saw to us, when you return from the field.

Can I bring my dog or pet along?
No, Insurance prohibits pets on our property.

How far is the walk to the Cut Your Own Field?
It is a 1/4 mile walk to the field and you carry the tree back with you.

Can I drive my vehicle to the Cut Your Own Field?
No, Insurance doesn't allow any motorized vehicles in the field.

What types of Christmas Trees are in the Cut Your Own field?
White Pine, Norway (Red) Pine, Fraser Fir, Balsam Fir, Spruce, and Concolor.

Do you accept Checks or Credit Card?
Cash Only, no checks, no credit or debit cards.

Where is the nearest ATM?
There is an ATM nearby at Kwik Trip on the corner of Hwy BD and Hwy 136.

When are you open?
We open on Friday, November 26th.
Hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
No one will be allowed to enter the Cut Your Own field after 3p.m. due to limited daylight.

Is there a restroom?
No, there are public restrooms nearby at Kwik Trip on the corner of Hwy BD and Hwy 136.

What should I wear?
Bring gloves and good walking shoes or hiking boots.  Dress appropriately for the weather.

How do I attach a tree to the top of my vehicle?
Place the trunk of the tree toward the front of your vehicle.  Use string or ratchet straps to securely attach the tree to your roof.  Baler twine is also available.

Why aren't you offering a fresh cut tree lot this year?
Supply shortages due to droughts we experienced a few years back and staffing shortages make the costs to operate the Fresh Cut Lot too prohibitive to our customers this year.  We anticipate being able to return to full operations in 2022.
